Guardians of the Galaxy: Nikki

This was a commission. One I couldn't turn down.

You see, when I was younger, Guardians of the Galaxy was my favorite book. And my favorite character in it was Nicolette Gold here, a Mercurian. No, it wasn't just her half naked body that appealed to my teenage hormones. (They appeal to my adult hormones as well.) But it was more her personality and character. She was (literally) hot headed, arrogant, promiscuous, often very brutal, and above all... fun. Everything you want in a flawed character, to watch them grow out of their flaws. And she did... Or WOULD have if Jim Valentino didn't get boned over during those days' administration at Marvel.

Anyway, I loved drawing this one. And what I find scary is that I hadn't even picked up a GotG book since the mid 90's. I drew this from memory, and I was just about dead accurate with the costume. I wasn't planning on coloring the girl, but I guess I hadn't really ever seen her with modren day coloring affect applied to her, so I had to give it a shot.

And yes, I'm well aware of how boring and "slapped on" the background is. It was post production and I didn't plan for there to be one. Mea Culpa.
