Thought I'd take a crack at "animating" the movie's Starscream, so to speak, tweaking some stuff here and there. Hope you like.

Hmmm... Maybe I should have added the sword...

very nice, very nice indeed.
And, Sword? So, I guess my eyes werent fooling me in that videoclip from a tv spot.

Wow! That's awesome.

Hey, guys ... I don't mean to sound insulting or anything, but I've seen some of the brief previews to the movie "Transformers" and I lost a lot of interest in seeing it. Here's why ... some of the people they have cast for the "poor humans" who find themselves at ground zero between the Decepticons and the Autobots just makes me go ... "oh well." Sure the effects look great and all, but I like more than just effects.

What do you think? Other than I sound moronic. :)

Well hon, I don't think you're sounding moronic here. In fact, I'm sure many people share the same thought as you. I mean, I'm a nerd and you could throw Optimus Prime up on the screen reading the Great Gastby for two hours and I'd be enough of a sheep to go and see it. But let's be honest... This is a Michael Bay film, and he's not exactly reknown for deep characterization. (And the movie that had "characterization" was Pearl Harbor... Blech!) I'm sure the movie is going to be like Independence Day, Godzilla, or Armageddon. Stupid fun.

When you break down Transformers, it's just giant robots machine gunning each other. We Transfans like to fool ourselves into believe it's more, but it's just a Mecha WWE with some scrappings of metaphors and vague spirituality thrown in there. It's not really much deeper than Poke'Mon, which is at it's core "Captive Animal Cockfighting." But not everything has to be deep. (And I do gotta admit I would pay to see a live action Pikachu!)

It's gonna be a popcorn flick, nothing more. And honestly, that's not a bad thing at all. Some of my favorite movies are popcorn flicks. Schindler's List is a wonderful movie but I can only watch it every now and then. However I can Evil Dead II over and over again. (And have!) If you have a concept of giant robots fighting... Michael Bay is the best director for it. He blows things up good.

So yeah, like I said, I don't think you're being moronic here. Just a difference in tastes. =)

I know ... a few people and I wre talking about this at lunch and I lameted about the comment I made. My friends couldn't believe we were talking about this until one of the guys came walking over and started up about the movie. Then it clicked in about ID4 and Godzilla, both which I liked. I just ... for ten bucks, I want something more than just explosions and such, but I also don't want half a show of romance either ... damn Star Wars II: Send in the Clowns.

One friend also reminded me I'm older than the target audience ... and then I poured my milkshake into her lap. :)

Target audience... You're only like five or six years older than me. =P

But yeah, I think ID4 and Godzilla is a safe bet to figure out what this movie is like.
