Commissioned by of his CoH character Purrfect Archer. Yes, I teased him for the name, as I should. (I've known him for years, so I retain that God-given right. ) Anyway, it was kinda fun playing with angles here.
It's kinda funny. I have a nitpick with 99% of catgirl characters, and it's for the most dumbassed reason there is... The ears are in the wrong place. They're people, so they should go on the sides of the head. I know putting them on the sides makes them look less like cats and more like elves, but I just think it just seems wrong otherwise, and I can't wrap my brain around the physiology of it. I'm just imaging evolution with an ear canal on the top of your head, so it would have to go through the brain, meaning it'd have to be very small or very compressed. Which brings up another interesting question I've always wondered... In today's western society, women tend to favor shaving body hair, such at the armpits, the legs, and elsewhere. If a catgirl is covered with fur, would she even bother with that? And for that matter, how funky would they smell? Unless it's a society where catgirls are normal, it's not like they could take advantage of a roll-on of Secret. Sweat would build up, and they'd probably start smelling like a fat guy in humid heat after a while. How do they pick their nose? Especially those catgirls like Darkstalkers' Felicia with the giant ass paws for hands that's the size of her entire head... Maybe she could get a claw up there. Which makes me wonder another thing: Does a catgirl paint her claws like some girls paint their nails? No one's going to see it...
...You stopped reading like about nine lines ago... I'll shut up.
You know, I remember an episode of "Swat Kats" where they go into an abandoned mine. In there one can see a skull, with ear bones! Yeah, the ears actually have bones in that cartoon!
Y'know, I have always thought about that as I have worked on designs for characters. I just chalked it up to just the way it is. I know when I designed my "Caitlynn Wildfire" character [link] , I placed two sets of ears there. I think she turned out pretty cool.
Soon as I saw the pic, I knew without reading that it was a CoH character; I recognized the armor! I'll miss my main, and a lot of the friends that I made while I played. Awesome pictures!
