I just got back from seeing it, and well, here are my spoiler free thoughts on it. I feel the need to clarify something here. I admit I like bad movies. But here’s the thing: I know they’re bad movies. Me admiring a movie like Battleship and Age of Extinction is not the same form of admiration that I have toward Captain America: Winter Soldier or Jurassic Park. There’s a difference between loving something for it’s flaws and loving something for it’s virtues.

And holy crap, does Guardians of the Galaxy have a ton of virtues. This may be the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. At least a decade or so. No shitting you. It’s that good. Seriously, I’ve been sitting here for a few hours TRYING to think of something negative to say, and the closest I can come up with it I’m annoyed Cosmo didn’t talk.

The acting is great, the story is a blast, the jokes are actually funny! If you had come to me even ten years ago and told me that they’re going to make a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and that not only will it star Rocket Raccoon but Groot the tree and the new “Wannabe-Riddick” Drax the Destroyer… And that it’ll actually be both a critical and commercial success… I would have died laughing. But here we are in August of 2014 and I, and many others, are wanting a dancing Groot tree.

I loved it. I loved it so very much that it’s easily my favorite comic book movie of all time now, easily surpassing Iron Man, Avengers, Richard Donner’s Superman and Tim Burton’s Batman. It’s not only a great comic book movie, it’s a epic space opera movie. (Which has been rare for quite a while now. When was the last one? The original Star Wars trilogy?)

Hell, even though Tumblr spoiled the post-credits cameo for me, it was still hilariously awesome.

Just see the movie. It’s… It’s near perfect. :)

I so totally loved this movie. I went with my sister in law and her husband. My god, everybody was in a constant laughter. This is a hell of a movie.
Marvel is at this moment Superior, just like Pixar for a long time. :-)

It's been a long time since I saw a movie where the characters led the action, and the humor came from their interaction rather than forced gags.  I loved it.  Seeing it again on Saturday.

I really didn't think much of it at all. Parts I liked but the overall I found to be very average.

I've heard glowing praises from all around the net, but damn, if even you find no fault with it, AND it's just replaced all your top favorite superhero movies as THE best ever made.  . . well damn. I think I have to see this now.

It's really that good. I know I'm prone to hyperbole, but this is one of those times I'm really serious. I know some people are worried about the Ant-Man movie with the fallout with Edgar Wright, but Marvel just made Rocket Raccoon and a dancing tree into one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. They've earned that "Pixar" benefit of the doubt from me from here on out for me.

I also know that when you really like something like the original Superman movie or the Tim Burton Batman, it doesn't get dethroned easily. And if Guardians can do that- then holy crap! Not to mention, that I've seen nothing but extremely positive reviews all across the net.

What happened with Edgar Wright??
